64 vintabe AM radios have a light that is ALWAYS ON when the radio is on, so no extra wire to control the light. If you have the radio out, replace that bulb now. The radio grounds through the chassis itself, so hot is all you should have, and two speaker wires. Simplicity itself.

How many wires does a 1964 AM radio have? I removed mine a long time
ago. It has the two speakers wires, and a black one I cut that went to
the fuse box. Is this black one the radio power? I always thought
black wires were grounds. If it's power, where is the ground wire?
Shouldn't there also be a wire for the light? I can't find any plugs on
the radio.
Thanks,
Sean
