These wheels aren't hugely common but with a little digging, you can
find a set. I have spent a lot of time looking....
In '62-'65 Mopar made 4 different variants of the 15" steel wheel, all
of which will fit the dog dish cap:
15 x 5.5" (special order dodge, plymouth, #1856808)
15 x 6" (chrysler, all except station wagon, #2200928)
15 x 6.5" (imperial, all, #2122478)
15 x 6.5 (ambulance, limo, #2260158)
This being said, I have had the best luck looking on '56 - '61 Chrysler
corp vehicles, In particular, station wagons and fully loaded cars Just
get out in the 'yard and follow the chrome... and remember to bring a
dog-dish with you to check the register...
There are more widths and variants than listed above, as mentioned
already you will find these on the earlier cars. In fact my last few
finds have all been 15 x 4.5", which are from before 1962 but perfect
for front runners with a 6.70 x 15" tire.
Of course, all you need is the center, if you find a good center you can
have it re-rimmed in any width you want by a good wheel shop such as
TruDesign Wheel or Stockton Wheel - making a smashed junkyard wheel
perfectly usable for our purposes. I had 15 x 7" rears built for the
back and they look 100% factory. And no, you can't have the common 14"
wheel re-rimmed using a 15" rim shell, the center is a different
stamping. I actually have seen it done but it looks pretty bad...
Good luck.

Subject: Mopar 15"ers?
Hi all
Further to the recent brief discussion on Studebaker 15" steel wheels
being a suitable alternative to Mopar 15" steels, for fitting the early
dog dishes....
What Mopars were fitted with the 15" wheels that these hub caps are
suppose to fit?
As far as I know, passenger cars didnt come with 15's till a few years
later, so was it vans/campers/pick-ups etc?
Can anyone be specific?
If so, what widths did they come in?
I'm hoping someone over here has a set tucked away off an old pick- up
or
similar....
Hoping....
Thanks
Robert
