The A/C works OK in my '64 Polara 500, but there are bubbles in the sight
glass and it isn't as cold as it should be. Since it is low, I want to
recharge, but before I do I am wondering if it is the new R134A, or the
old original
R12 refrigerant. I asked the previous owner about it and he doesn't know
which is in it. I will convert to R134A if it is R12, but am wondering
if I
will screw something up if I convert and it doesn't need to be, or if I
recharge with R134A and it is R12 will that mess it up. My question is
will it mess
it up to convert if it is already R134A, and is there anyway to tell what
refrigerant is in it? Thanks for any help.
