Bill,
Call petronix tech line. They have a 800#.
I use them myself in my Rambler, but my cousin installed them. Some people
should not work on stuff like that, like ME.
Petronix is good stuff. You will love it after u get them working correct.

Subject: pertronix conversion
I have a problem with the pertronix coversion I installed in my 383
distributor.
The installation instructions are messing with my mind.
One says after installing the conversion and pulling the wires and grommet
through the distributor, to install the red wire to the positive side and
the black wire to the negative side of the coil.
Yet further on with the map enclese with the diagram, it shows running the
red wire to the hot side of the ignition and the ballast resistor wire
running to the positive side of the coil.
Which way is the right way.
It sure as hell won't start with running it to the ignition switch but it
has no power with it running directly to the coil.
Help please.
I don't want to go back to points but will if I can't figure out the
problem.
Thanks
Bill Harrison
