Bill, let me be the first to welcome you to our friendly group. Lots of
valuable info .
Here is my recent experience with flywheels-- Ny project is a 64 Dodge 4
speed , 440 engine with a external balance. I needed a flywheel. for 10
1/2" clutch. You can have a internal balance flywheel drilled to make it
work with external balance. engine. I can't endorse this yet, but I got a
new billit flywheel from" 440 source" that has a weight bolted to it for
exyernal balance , or remove the weight for internal balance.. Cost--$100
plus shipping from Callyfornya. No doubt made out of the USA, but it appears
very nice and has a new starter ring. I haven't installed it yet Good luck
with yours....................MO

Subject: Intro and Flywheel
Hi, I just joined the clubhouse and wanted to introduce myself. Im Bill
and live in southwestern Indiana. The 62 to 65 mopars are my all time
favorite. I have worked on them for several years and I have a question.
Im wanting to install a 400ci motor in my 64 sport fury project. It is a
factory 4 sp car and had a 361 in it. The 361 is internally balanced and
the 400 is externally balanced. Can I rebalance the 361 flywheel for the
400 or should I just get another one? By the way, I noticed some emails on
a 65 satellite; I just stripped out a 65 satellite (2dr.htp.)and have some
doors and a few other parts available if anyone is needing some parts.
Thanks, Bill
