I have heard of the "cut swedge" solution, but you still have to work around
the hub --and can't check bearings and seals. ............................MO

I'd heard/read/dreamed? That you can use a 9/16 hole saw to cut the swedges
off the studs and pull the drum, which I'm going to try on a spare I have.
Sounds similar. /Butch/Ferndale, WA

To all You do not have to do it that way. you use a file or die grinder
to take down the raised or swedge around each stud. Now thread a nut on
flush and drive the stud in about 1/8 inch. not all the way,now remove the
drum the same way as you would on later axles. Before reinstalling pull
studs back in full, and open stud holes up just a little. I have done this on
all Mopars since i started working on them. This is the way i was taught by
my dad and always works.
Side note for 10 inch breaks use all fifth ave pieces including hardware
and cylinders. For 11inch dodge truck from the late 70’s will work again
use all pieces.
