Guess I got lucky.......my rebuilder did it for nothing, had a
kit and said it had been awhile since he did one. Just stayed stock. He told me
it is one of the best and simplest trans ever built. (he gets a ton of work from
my cousin...might have had something to do with it)

       I'm changing over from a 65 Poly to a "71 TNT 440/HP",,,yes up here
in the New England area there are plenty of Trans People who known The
Push Bottom TF 727 very well, are willing to rebuild them
right away,,,and most important give a person an outstanding deal for the
      money. I'm getting a rebuilt/modifications from a 40 year experienced
Trans. shop for 1/4 the price modern day Trans shops are charging. Seek
      and you shall find.

Yet again I have to smile.  You guys
talking about how hard it is to get a cable shift tranny rebuilt.
Up here in Saskatoon, (google it) we've got probably half a dozen or
more tranny shops to choose from.  One of these shops, Trevor's
Transmission, custom built one for my 65 Polara.  See, I put a 440
into the Polara and used the bell housing and tail shaft from a big
block and the center section from the original 318 polly.  I get a
call 2 days later to say it's done.  So basically he completely
made a big block tranny from one small block and one big block and put a
shift kit in it, all for $975.  I thought that was a hell of a
deal.  And damn, does it shift nice!!  Like I said in a
posting a couple days ago, there seems to be an advantage to living in
        Saskatchewan.

         A & A transmissions sells some
parts.  No one is selling any rebuilt '62 ti '62 727's unless you
supply the core yourself.  Then you have to ship the whole trans to
them and wait.  If they screwed it up you have to send it back
        again and wait some more.

Get some kind of kit and get someone who
knows these transmissions to rebuild it for you.  Good luck and I
hope your trans shifts nice and hard when you get it done.
