Have you tried jumping the starter to see if you are getting voltage at the starter from the batt post on the starter to the solenoid post on the starter. I had a a 70 plym that the starter fried and would do nothing but click. another problem could be starter relay or loose connection at the starter soleniod post or a loose post there
