After about 6" of rain, it finally stopped and the sun came out---so did Brutus. I really like the 3:23 ratio with 28" tall tires. Most of my miles are highway and it cruises at 60-65 so easy now. And, my gear noise at 2000 rpm 4th gear is gone. I think maybe I will take the 275/60R-15 Nitto DOT Drag Radials off, and install the same size tires in a Copper Cobra ........................MO

Since I broke the pinion yoke, I been getting some occasional clunks and weird stuff going on in the rear gears. Last Sunday , it got much worse when we were out on a cruise caravan ( at least 20 cars) We cut short the route and drove about 60 miles on pins and needles. We did make it into the garage. This week, I pulled the 3:55 sure grip. Ring and pinion was fine, but the spider gears in the sure grip , had sheared some teeth. I wanted to make it to Friday's mega cruise in at Plattsmouth Ne. I have another complete 3:23 sure grip that I have never used , but looked OK. I had to order a pinion yoke seal, and the axle gaskets, housing to diff. gasket and gear oil and sure grip additive. I just buttoned it up in time for Supper tonight. I sure hope this rain stops , so I can see how the new gears work. I was hesitant to tackle this job , crawling around on the floor with my knee replacement. But I was motivated by local mechanics chargeing $80+ per hour --and some are just flat out not worth that much. I am soooo slow, but my labor rate is little to nothing....And now I hear they are post -poneing Plattsmouth till next week. ..Only 3 weeks till November...dread cold weather more each year..........................MO
