RE: dumb thread



My very first car was in fact a 1965 Belvedere I.  I bought it with a loan
from my Dad when I was 15.  I worked after school as a janitor at my high
school and weekends at a florist's greenhouse complex making dozens of those
flats all the ladies would buy and plant around there houses.  All annuals
so they would come back every spring and buy more.
The car was a former taxi so it had HD brakes and suspension, leather bench
seats, towel bar style door handles, slant six and three on the tree.  No
radio or windshield washer when I got it, got a kick ass AM-FM with
"cassette" player and a bag type washer with dash lever.  I painted it in
the driveway with a shaker can.  When I got my permit, I learned to drive on
it and although I moved to a BB Chevelle, we kept the car and my four
brothers and sisters also learned to drive in it.  We must have totaled it
three times, finally so bad we had to send it to the junk yard.  But I've
always missed that car, that's why I always wanted another one and got into
this a few years ago.  Now I have two and a 64 was well.  One day a
convertible with a hemi will be mine.  My Dad and I took the 64 out for a
spin Monday afternoon, it was warm and the sun was shining.
Now we have a foot of snow AGAIN!
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!  We're all Irish today.

I have to admit, I bought my first 67 Dodge Polara 383 slapstick 2 dr
complete with fender skirts when I was 15 yrs old. I am 39 now. It was
bought from
dishwashing as well. The down side is that I never got to drive it, and the
guy
that bought it from me for 800.00 still owes me 300.00. The worst part was
he
was a good childhood friend up until that time.
