Re: weird electrical problem (65 Polara)



I had the same problem on my 64 only half of the dash would not light up.  Drove me crazy trying to figure it out.  Finally reached under the dash and checked the light bulbs.  What a surprise.  One was loose and after I tightened it up every thing worked great.  Had me going for awhile.

  Greg, Sounds like the turn signal bulb and socket just fell out of the hole
  where it plugs in. It is probably grounding on the back of the instrument
  cluster or something metal, allowing it to flash even though it is not
  plugged in. You should be able to feel around under the dash and reinsert
  it. It should go in directly behind where you see the light flash normally.
