I been using them without the extended perches and was okay till last fall. The new 29.5" tall slicks ripped up the front of the wheel well. That was no problem with the 26" tires. Must have been a lot of spring wrap because I had a inch or so clearance. I'm probably going to use the Comp Engineering Adjust-A-Link to stop the wrap up.
