If you go with the 360 or some other LA motor, Hookers fit right into the early B-body. You can get the Comps for about $150, and they're more robust than the Super Comps so better for a driver like my car. They list them for '67-up, but that's because of the engine, not the engine bay. I've got them in my car, with power steering and the the big phat original starter -- good clearance, no dinging required. Did put an insulation wrap around the starter.
 
The downside on these is that one tube goes under the center link, reducing ground clearance. I'm running about stock ride height but with bigger .960 bars and in 3 years of driving, no problem.
