If you have a Holly 4150 or 4160 you probably blew out a power valve.
Is it running rich at idle?

Hi guys -

Kinda sucky problem: Last night while driving home from school, I broke
the
throddel return spring on my Polara (2bbl 383). Took a little struggling
to get
it off the road at WOT and shut off the key, and when I did it
backfired.
Fortunately I was close to home so I hoofed it back home and found a
spare spring
in my box of "stuff" and put that on. Problem is, now it runs like CRAP.

Idles high and diesles like crazy when I shut her off. Could all that be
cause by
a mismatched throddle return spring or did I possibly screw something up
in
the carb? Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

- Jeff
