Changing cam bearings is still a machine shop process as they have to have
both ends of the block open . usually done on a complete rebuild .

you can look at the bearings to check wear. providing you have the cam out.
not required when just changing cams.

Hi,

A year or two ago it was discussed what type of sock could replace the
one on the sending units for the 62-65 cars. Could someone remind me of
where the replacement sock could come from?

btw, I'm still waiting for a reponse to my questions about the
replacement of cam bearings in a Poly and how hard that is to do.

Thanks.
