I also would agree that hardened seats are always suggested, but I didn't
add them to my Max Wedge as for 1.88 valves, seats are not available. The
motor has close to 10,000 miles already and there are no problems. If you
are planning on a motor capable of 100,000 miles then add them.  Otherwise
build em & drive em.

I have to disagree with the change to harned valve seats. It is a good idea
but Like I say I ran my 413 really hard and never had a problem.  It still
costs about $200.00 to install harnded seats and do a valve grind.   Maybe a
little more.

  You can change have a machine shop add hardened seats--in the long run,
  your heads will last longer. It's not that expensive.
