I believe that there is a diffenence in using oil verus ATF.   You could be right as for the oil.  Maybe that I got lucky but then I also use to run some octane booster once in a while.   Mostly just used the ATF.

  As long as you don't go overboard on the oil you're ok, but it lowers the 
  octane rating of your gas.  Also, at full throttle, many engines will detonate 
  without you ever hearing any pinging.  I learned the hard way on that one.  Just 
  my 2 cents.  Joe
