An "exhausting" question...

So I'll be getting the TTI headers for my 318 Poly, once they are available (soon, I hope!!!).  I won't be able to afford a new custom dual exhaust right now, so I'm thinking of throwing on 3-4' of exhaust pipe, and welding on a cherry bomb muffler or a purple hornie muffler, exiting right at the rear axle.
 
Any problems with this?  I'll be getting it all set up with a custom exhaust for it in a while, once I can $$$ it - but in the meanwhile I'm thinking this'll do...
