When it comes to oil filters, size does matter. :)
At least it enhances bragging rights. ;-)
More filter size means a bigger amount of filtering media to trap debris as well as a little more oil capacity in the engine. There's even a (gasp) F*rd filter that is bigger than a BB Mopar filter that fits right on Mopars. In fact, the BB Mopar/F*rd filters even fit on a Mopar 2.2 series engine K car, and are used there to replace the teacup sized original filter, allowing about 1/2 qt more oil in the 2.2 system.
