Ok you asked so i will give my 2 cents worth.
I own the first V10 truck ever ordered from Chrysler (V P sales for Chrysler Canada told me that on the phone) and i checked when it was delivered (7 month wait) and it does actually carry order no ---001.
Anyway. It gets 20.6 miles per gallon on the hghway at 60-70 mph (Canadian gallon (IMP) 160 fl oz or 5 US quarts so my figures X 80% should work for you southern folks)
If I drive over 70 mph , say 80 to 85 MPH it drops to mid 18s . In average conditions I have had consistantly mid 19s . The only time it is hard on fuel is in traffic. We will often go to Kingston some 50 Miles from here. It will use as much crossing Kingston in heavy traffic as it did to get there. Otherwise it is very thrifty to operate.
I could tow my Race car to tracks east of here , about 170 miles and average just over 17 MPG if I stayed under 70 mph. The car and trailer weighed 5500 #.
My brother has a 1995 V10 as does my neighbour who uses it in his constuction business as his personal truck. Both will tell you the same except the 95 truck is a bit better over 70 mph (I think different computer) Mine is a 1994 Ram 2500 2WD.
I have 227225 KM on it with no trouble. Two thermostats and the factory replaced the intake gasket when the truck as almost brand new as they changed its design.
It has had 3 set of plugs and three sets of front brake pads. Back are still original.
Oh yeah one set of front tires.(several rears)
Perfomance figures are and this is the FUN part,
!5.86 @ 87 MPH.
It aint no 63 max wedge but it is a lot of fun and will eat a lot of the so called muscle cars .
I have been pleasantly surprised with it and I would vote it best vehicle I have ever owned.
Don
