An issue came up with a friend of mine on the issue of bill of sales and titles. He purchased a "very nice" Brand x'er, somewhat expensive, and needed a bill of sale for the car. He put the actual purchase price on the bill of sale (somewhere in the range of $5,000, in 1990). He paid the high sales tax. He put insurance on his car, liability only at the time. He was driving home one night in the rain and tractor trailer jack-knifed in the road trying to exit. He could not see the trailer portion due to rain and no lights on the trailer. Totalled the car underneath the trailer. The insurance would not pay until an amount was agreed upon. Both insurance companies had nothing to go on and finally settled on the price that was on the bill of sale. It was well worth the cost of the tax to be fully reimbursed on the car. Coverage now is more indepth with the price of these cars; however, it does give the average owner one more document of the cars value. My 2cents-a penny.

TP,
The website says it's $150-$175. Do you have a contact there that will
let us have it for $120?
Thanks,
Ken

I used ITS. International Title Services, they advertise in Mopar
Collectors Guide and others. Fairly easy process. You sign a form and
get it notarized saying you have legal possession of the vehicle, and
sell it to them. They in turn issue a bill of sale from a state where
no title exists, such as Georgia. Then they sell it back to you and you

bring the bill of sale to your DMV and register the car. Only took me
about 5 days and $120.
One thing to remember is that whatever value you place on the car,
they will list on the form. So you could be liable for a big sales tax
when you register, depending on your state.

Hope this helps.
