Only if he doesn't run a thermostat with a setting equal to the minimum desired running temp. Thermostats control minimum temp.I.E. 190degree thermostat means your gonna run 190 or higher. This assumes engine is not submersed in liquid nitrogen or something. Save the Taurus radiator money, buy that correct Max Wedge radiator tag you've been dreaming of...

I would think, running a garden hose, the water would be too cold and the engine would never get to operating temp. You can buy a radiator and electronic fan from a Ford Taurus.

You could leave the thermostat in and probably forget the bos fan by opening the petcock wide on the radiator and running a garden hose into the filler neck just fast enuf to keep it full. The engine could also then be run with no engine-driven fan but you would still have to have the waterpump up and running. This way the water will never over heat, therefore the engine operating temperature would be controlled by the opening setting of the thermostat. Just make sure the thremostat is good. In high school autoshop most of the stand engines were connected to a cooling tower which supplied an endless supply of cool water. We had a few that had radiators and fans in place but fans are finger assassins for careless high school kids.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I was planning to tie a strong string to the
coil wire for an emergency shut off switch and leave off the fan. Everything
should fit on a pallet.
Wally - glad to see you survived that test run! Earl - the mopar stands are
supposed to bolt up to the motor mounts in the front and to the bellhousing
mount on each side. You got me thinking about hooking up some type of rev
limiter if you can get a low speed chip. Would a large window/box fan blowing into
the radiator be enough to cool it for 20 minutes or so? Should the thermostat
be left out? Anyway, gotta get ready for work, will keep you posted. Joe
