I had a problem finding studs with the right size splines to work in a 
similar application years back.
I ended using a micrometer , measuring the originals, and then buying 
slightly larger splined, 1/2" -20 studs.
I then put each in a pipe machine, or lathe, and using a file, reduced 
the splined area down to the original size.
Those studs are still in the car, and have never come loose.
Not what one would like to do, but sometimes it's all there is.
