  OK, this will probably open a can of worms, but here goes.
     What is the key to making Horsepower with low compression?
  I see over and over in magagzines something like
     " We made 527 horsepower on pump swill and a hydraulic cam!"
    or somesuch saying.
   I am slowly working my way through my MP Big block engine book and
   they caution anything over 9.0 to 1 for a dual purpose car is moving
   towards flirting with detonation disaster. 
   Well there! I've said it.
