Paul, I've burned up 2 headlight switches partly because of this but 
you should be ok if you don't use the
High beams? I got some relays but have not installed them yet. Right 
now I have a separate switch
wired to the battery and only use the headlight switch for rear lights 
or running lights.
also need to pull the instr. cluster to put new bulbs and upgrade the 
voltage reg etc...
My 62 is still smiling though. :o)
