Thanks, I have never heard a brace referred to as a band, but I could
see
how some people could call it that. On motorcycle clutches we put a band
around the outside of the clutch to keep it from expanding. I thought
you
were going to teach me a new trick. Shucks.

Of course after you brace it, then buy the good MW axles, the forged
bearing
caps, and forged yoke, and billet ends for the MW axles and then your
there.

This refers to welding a brace across the axle housing to the centre
section, 
both sides top and bottom!
I hope that explains it.
Than again I could be using the wrong term.
