I have 295's under my 65 Belve with stock location springs
but they have a 2" higher ride heigth. Same back spacing
and rim width as Daves - 15x8 with 4.5.

I was thinking of going to 295's Dave. Just wasn't sure about clearance.
NO one will be riding in my back seat..ever. I also used a 70GTX rear
end housing,and,if I remember correctly,it was just a bit narrower,which
would explaint he clearance.

George brings up a point to consider. Is the car stock height or is it
raised? Also,is it the tapered axle rear or flanged? Personally,I have
altered springs and a 65 rear on my 64 Belve.I have
275/60's on 15x8 steelies with 4.5" of backspacing..5-.75" clearance on
both sides.I could probably get 295's in there but would then have to go

with 10" rims.
