Why would a hardtop weight 300 lbs more? Heck there is less metal, being no post and less door frame?

I weighed my 63  330 2 dr. post on a govt. certified scale. With full
interior, no spare, 440 with auto it weighed 3470. A hdtp. will weigh close
to 3700.---mike
