An update:
After writing Mr. Gasket, and the BBB in Cleveland, Ohio, the company
sent me a replacement set of wires.
They would'nt acknowledge that they erred on their warranty evaluation,
but that they replaced the set only for the reason of customer
satisfaction.
Although I'm grateful for having the set replaced, I'd have preferred to
have the company acknowledge that they replaced them due to the lifetime
guarantee that I had, rather than to just appease me.
I don't know what it takes to be classified a defect in materials or
workmanship, or wear and tear.
I'm not very encouraged that I won't have trouble in the future with Mr.
Gasket on another guarantee claim.
I only report this to thr group, so anyone considering a Mr. Gasket
product, can decide how important their guarantee is, prior to their
purchase.
To me lifetime guarantee "seals the deal".
So having said that.
Buyer beware.

Years ago I was forced to buy a set of Jacobs Ceramic 2000 plug wires.
When you run 2" headers, plug boots burn up rather quickly.
The Jacobs wires were the only solution for me.
Jacobs guaranteed these wires for life, and were very good about
replacing them if anything went wrong.
Well that all changed when Mr. Gasket bought Jacobs in 2003.
They told me that they would "grandfather" the wires since they were
purchased with a lifetime guarantee.
They now only guarantee their wires for 1 yr.
They refuse to exchange the wires for me, and were only willing to sell
me a set at a reduced price.
They say the condition of the wires is normal wear and tear, and they
say the guarantee doesn't cover that.
The only guarantee I've seen has no fine print that excludes anything.
After arguing with them on the phone for quite some time, I saw I was
going nowhere and told them to ship my wires back to me.
They did, and they mailed them in anoher package that was missing the
bold lettering of Lifetime Guarantee in the upper right hand corner of
the box.
A shady move, for sure.
I contacted Summit Racing and told them of my problem, and was advised
to return the wires to them, and they would send me another set.
I'm sharing my story with the group so that you'll all be aware of the
tactics of Mr. Gasket , and of the customer service of Summit Racing.
A Lifetime Guarantee to me is exactly what it says. No wiggle room.
I'll never buy another product from Mr. Gasket , which includes Erson,
Accel, Hays, Mallory, Hurst,
and when I do get my wires will report my claim to Mr. Gasket, and all
the world.
I can't say enough good about Summit Racing.
They went through my entire purchase history (56 transactions) , twice ,
untill they found proof of the purchase, and then advised me to return
the wires.
