  Well I've finally decided to go with the 1/2" pick-up on my B motor.  I 
have a question.  When I drill the 3/8" hole down to the to the bottom and retap 
it to 1/2" ips. do I need to open up the 1/2" hole on the outside of the block 
where it mates with the oil pump?  It would seem that you do, as increasing 
the size of the pickup whould be no benefit if it has to narrow down to this 
size at the oil pump.  Any thoughts on this?
