"Worth" is always mostly determined in the eye of the buyer, so that's 
your call. :) I think you can find a used switch that will work. The 
plastic eventually cracks on these switches, so look the plastic over on 
the used one.  

Yes, you can bypass the tranny filter, but I'd use Tom's tip and plumb 
in an inline filter now. Then you are done with it and won't have to 
mess with installing one later. My 2 cents.
