The pin is for the newer self adjuster style Mopar started using in the late 60's. I put a 70 GTX housing and 11" brakes on my 64 Polara. and used the newer style.

I put a 1968 Charger 8.75 rear in my 64 Fury. The new 10" brake shoes
came with a pin pressed into one on each side. What is this for? It is
in the bottom of the shoe, and doesn't seem to go to the emergency brake
stuff. The shoes I took off had no pin, just a hole.

thanks,

Sean B.
