Don,

It is always nice to see someone get a new girl friend. I can see the
gleam in your eye all the
way here in Salt Lake City. I know your going to have a blast.
Congratulations.

Earl

Well folks, today I took possesion of my 65 Dart station wagon - the
same one we were planning on driving from CA to VA. After driving it
some today, I believe we'd probably have had no or maybe just minor
problems driving it back. Wife would have hated it cause the front seat
is pretty well shot and it's never had a radio (still has the radio
delete plate). After a 7 day cross country trip on a portable parking
lot, it started right up, the slant idled good and was pretty smooth.
First thing I noticed was it had a wrong gas cap on it - that would have
probably accounted for the smell of gas when it was filled up. I will
remedy that tomorrow with a correct gas cap. The front seat REALLY
needs help so plan is to swap in a set of really nice reupholstered
buckets from a 65 Valiant Signet I'm getting ready to part out. Then do
I add a 65 console and floor mounted shifter? Still, I kind of like the
column shift. And then there is a rebuilt 72 318 dressed to look like a
65 273 HiPo motor sitting on the stand. And there is a complete dash
from 66 Formula S. The windshield has a really bad wiper streak on the
passenger side. As long as the windshield has to come out, it would be
an ideal time to replace the dash. And of course the wimpy 9 in drums
have got to be swapped for discs and of course the rear needs to be
swapped for an 8 3/4. I'll have some work in store for my spare time no
matter what plan I use. Luckily all the above possibilites are feasible
since I have all the parts. Anyway, I thought I would pass on some of
my observations, ideas and if anyone wants to chime in with their own
comments, what they would do, etc. please feel free to do so. Don
