They never came with a slip yoke. When the A904 appeared with a slip yoke for 1966, the unit was converted to lever control and a single pump set up. By the way, not all A727 transmissions went to the slip yoke in 1965. The Imperial and the C-body slant six versions of the A727 retained the propeller shaft flange. The slant six version used the ball and trunion set up while the Imperial used a slip yoke on the centre shaft bearing. I said I did not know about the 904 but that the 65 727 was cable shifted though not push button and had the slip yoke style end. Anyone know if there ever was such an animal (push button slip yoke 904)? Was the 65 904 similar to the 727 in this respect? Any info appreciated. Thanks Nico Over Va.
