Sounds like a fuel pump problem, but when that is cured/fixed, be sure to check the plugs for any type of fouling or detonation issues.

My 273 is losing prime back to the pump (or maybe through). I put a clear
filter on last month after cleaning the tank and now I'm having starting
problems.
I popped the hood and saw the filter almost empty before starting and the
hesitation is the pump filling it up to pressure.
I thought of just cutting in a plumbing-style check valve for now but if the
pump isn't making it, it won't fix it.
What sort of pressure should I be getting out of the pump? 2-3 PSI
Should the float valve be holding against vacuum?
Just get a new pump?
