The 241 early small Hemi's are a pretty wide block - wider than even the poly. MA Mopar didn't use the poly in the early A Bodies becuase the engine compartment was too narrow. Unless you're prepared to do some serious fab work to the inner fenders, especially where the UCAs are located, I second Gary's recommendation. Find a 360, dress it like a 273 HiPo, definitely upgrade to disc brakes and an 8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear end and you'll be miles and dollars ahead. That's what I'm doing to my 65 Dart wagon.

The Hemi V-100 sounds cool.

My 2.5 cents is that it will take a lot of fab work, parts for the early
Hemis are expensive, and the Hemi is a heavy motor. If it were me I'd
think about cloning the 273 in the Valiant into a "Formula S" type motor
and sell the 241 Hemi. The "S" 273 with a three on the tree would be a
fun car, too.

But it's your call, of course. If you feel the urge to "Hemify" and have
the fabrication skills and patience, go for it. :)
