Sean, you got me curious so I went out and checked my 63 poly which is
setting on an engine stand getting ready for a stroker rebuild. Results:
no visible timing mark,surface rust must be hiding it like yours. I would
take a hack saw and cut me a slightly deeper groove to ensure proper
timimg later on. Hope this helps.
