Hey Scott- I put one of thes old 2pc Sun tachs in my Max Wedge car, looks awesome. Mounted tach on removable defroster register and box on firewall. I have pictures on my website, here is an address that will take you right to a good picture of the box mounting location. Make sure you check position of the box for aircleaner interference before you drill any holes. I had to move mine because I wasn't that smart on my first try.

see bottom of this page then click to see more and you will get another shot of box from a different angle and a picture of the tach.

There is also an outfit called Williamson's Instruments in Arkansas that restores the tachs and converts the boxes to self-powered electronic, no batteries required, still operates off a breaker point or trigger wire. See their site at

I have a Sun tach transmitter for my max wedge clone car and was wondering where the best place to mount it would be? Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Scott
