Re-wired the entire engine compartment of my '62 Savoy. The wires on mine had been cut by a mischeivious youngster while my car was at the shop. First thing was to find a donor set from another 62. This car happened to have A/C, which mine does not. I took alot of digital pictures while the donor set was still in the car - became invaluable as the process went on. Utilized the donor set and the cut set to make one set. Re-taped everything as I went. Looks pretty close to factory.

The other method of re-wiring is to buy all new wiring, connectors, and do it yourself. Make sure to have good pictures/reference of the completed set, a wiring diagram and patience. The wire can be purchased at any electrical supply store along with all the connections. Auto supply stores will also carry some wire for this purpose. The key, is to study everything before purchasing anything. Write down everything from length of wire, color, start point, end point, type of connectors on both ends, size of wire, etc. This will make your trip to the store much easier and faster. Buy decent grade electrical tape, it may cost a little more, but will be worth it in the long run.

None of this may have answered your questions, so email me off list if you would like to know specifics.

I would be interested in a wiring harness for a 63 Sport Fury if it were available at a reasonable cost. I would also be interested in knowing if anyone has made their own harnesses using the original as a pattern. If any of you have where did you locate the wire, connectors and misc. associated supplies?

Thanks

Hello all:
There was a post recently, Vicky, i beleive
looking for a wiring harness ('62)
I am in almost the same situation with my '63.
I have contacted numerous vendors (Rhode Island wiring,
M & H , Y & Z and finally Evans wiring)
The people at Evans have responded somewhat positive.
They could duplicate my original but would require a
minimum of 30 sets to make it worth while.
I have asked for an approximate cost- have not heard back yet.
I am now approaching all you fine moparites to see
how much interest there would be.
        please e-mail me at csmopars@xxxxxxx

Thanks again for all your previous responses to
my many restoration questions.
Enzo
