I'm getting ready to do a disc conversion on my 65 Dart wagon (actually is a Valiant body with Dart dront clip), I'm replacing all the hard lines as well as the flex lines. Bought the set at the Nationals from Fine Lines (I think) a complete set of brake lines even though the 40 year old lines "look" good. One time I had a "good" steel line go out in a 64 Valiant and my son had one go out in a 66 Dart. No fun whatsoever. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Don't want to buy the preformed lines? Go to your local Napa and get a 25 ft roll of brake line and make your own - less expensive although the preformed looks better and no time lost. Just my 2c

Should hard braKE lines be replaced if they pass an eyeball inspection?
i know they could theoretically be rusting inside them from moisture
in brake fluid, but.... how common is that?
They are stainless steel, correct, or just steel?
What about flushing- any way to flush the lines and with what?
Are new lines expensive?? Hard to put in??
They have to come out for my floor pan repair so I just thought
while they are out, better do it right.
