The "HP" in the engine number stands for High Performance - 4-bbl carb with
375bhp

The "9F209733" is for the last eight digits for the VIN of the car the
engine was installed.

No way to determine exactly which model it was, but the "F" is for Newark,
Delaware. The Newark plant built C-body cars in 1969 - Fury, Polara, Monaco
and Chrysler.

Subject: 440 engine ID

Hi,

I just bought a 1969 440. Can someone help tell me what type of car the
engine came from?

The pad on the front of the engine is stamped E440 HP / 29

The casting number is 2536430 - 7 with a casting date of 1-14-69

The number on the oil pan rail is 9F209733

I know it is a 1969 440, but can someone help id the engine?

Thanks,

Ken
