Click here. caac2NYa/PermissionData ------------------------------------------------------------------- i was reminded that i over simplified the right/wrong theory for the headers. another area to look at is the direction the second and third driver side tubes go. the first set of headers i put on my car came off a super-bee, looking at some old pictures, the front tubes are right, but i had to remove my tie-rod grease zerk and put a "plug" in it and pound a very slight dent in the tube to clear the steering on drivers side. (the header hit the tie-rod assy as the wheel turns). those headers were tuned though, so the extra length of the pipe may have been the cause? looking at the picture of the summit headers, i wonder if they will fit into this category, i could not get the picture to open for the hedmans. but if memory serves, the tubes in question angle toward the back as they go down. if i read gary's response right, the elites must be the same headers as the other hedmans, just heavier and coated. tom 65 satellite ps good to hear from you, i have big plans to send some pic's to the 62-65 site of engleharts show this year, last year over 20 62-65's in attendance for those not from the midwest, this show is in a town of about 500? people. each year he has a guest, in years past, ronnie sox, dick landy, they also bring their cars. I opened an email from Summit Racing this morning & ended up looking at their in-house brand of Mopar R/RB headers. They only list one R/RB header to fit various Mopars, P/N SUM-CSUM1341. The darkish photo of the header made me think that it is actually the Hedman 78030, so I called Summit and talked to their tech supt. Turns out that the Summit in-house headers are made by FlowTech, a Holley company. The Summit guy only knew what the actual FlowTech blurb said - that they fit 67-74 B-bodies, in addition to some A & E's. So I call FlowTech and speak to their tech supt & he stated that their P/N 13130FLT header is only stated to fit 67-74 B-bodies because those are the only B-bodies that they have hung the headers on. Not much info for me to go on other than a photo of a Summit/FlowTech header that looks & appears to spec out extremely close to the Hedman 78030, but that the Summit header costs $90 vs. $135 for the Hedman. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=partdetail%2Easp&part=SUM%2 DG9041&base=SUM%2DCSUM1341 http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/ES/ESFT/FThdr.html#Dodge http://hedman.com/pages/popular-photos/78030.tif So I guess it comes down to this - Has anyone ever successfully used the Summit SUM-CSUM1341/FlowTech 13130FLT headers. Or does anyone think that it will fit an early B-body? I know the $45 difference is not a lot of money, but I am trying to do my 330 on a budget to get it on the road by spring. Thanks again. What part number? ... Also, Tom, here is a link to a photo on Hedman's site of the 78030 header. You are 100% correct regarding the front most tubes running horizontal on the 78030. Too bad that they don't have a pic of the Elite header for us to see. Wonder why the collectors are not even? You would think that the passenger side tubes could be a little shorter going into the collector so that the collector's flanges would be even with each other. Oh well. http://hedman.com/pages/popular-photos/78030.tif [AD removed for archives] ------------------------------------------------------------------- Get a free* Bible and salvation reading plan.
