Be sure to check the oil sending unit.

I rebuilt my 383 last winter, and ran it about 5000 miles last summer. Only problem is a heavy oil leak of about 1 quart every 200 miles. Car does not smoke. Appears to be leaking where the engine meets the tranny--not from the oil pan. Hard to see, but looks like oil dripping from near the rear seal area. Doesn't leak below 60 mph, only above that speed. Rear seal is Fel-pro new, and installed by machine shop when they built the short block.

Any thoughts?
