Hey, Gary P. This raises a question for me. If you put a Weiand single 4bbl on a non-stroked 2bbl poly do you lose some bottom end torque (launches slower)? Thanks. Paul

Tom, There are some minor differences between the 56-61 Poly motors, ie. extended crank flange..., but the intakes are all the same and interchange. The difference with your cast iron '59 intake is that the throttle bores (the four carb pad holes) need to be enlarged to accept the larger throttle bore butterflies on the newer Edelbrock, Carter carbs that you will be using. The Weiand #7503 single plane alum. intake will accept these newer carbs w/o modification and though it is a single plane, it will not hurt your "bottom end" with a stroker motor. Why will the Weiand not hurt your bottom end? Because the 4" stroker crank provides plenty of torque, 450+ lbs. with a 402" stroker Poly, and the Weiand single plane intake will perform just fine at all rpm levels; perhaps outperforming the dual plane on the mid and top end because of more plenum volume than the dual plane intake, although I would need to dyno test the OEM cast iron intake to be certain. FYI, the cast iron intake is approx. 53lbs. and the alum. Weiand is approx. 23lbs.; the weigh vs. ET is not relevant in my opinion but getting a hernia while lifting it onto your Poly is a concern!
