my "other car" is a 57 chevy for the simple reason, parts are
cheap!!, though ebay is doing its job on that too.
though the thought of putting a 440 in the chev has crossed
my mind, i was told i would then be in danger from both
camps, i bet it would fly though.
i guess to keep the peace, i'll keep the 440 in the
corner. but if prices on the mopars keep going up,
it might be the only alternative.

While at Chrysler's at Carlise this past summer one vendor had a tent full of
NOS parts. There was nothing less then 700 dollars for a piece of stainless
trim. I saw some NOS tail light lenses for my 62 chrysler with NOS bezels for
3,500 !!! Everything was simply insane, yet the tent was full and he had 5
people working for him,, I guess at those prices you only need to sell two or
three items for the weekend and you made out. It wouldn't take too many pieces
from this guy to outstrip the value of my Newport.
This guy made Frank Mitchell look like a bargin basment.
When people ask me what kinda cars they should buy, I always tell them now,
,get one that's finished. You will never be able to afford to redo one anymore.
