Tom, do it!

Why?

1.  You already own the Chevy.

2.  The Chevy's a nice car, it just needs a "proper" powerplant.

3.  When's the last time you saw this combo?

It will tick off the Bowtie Boys, but that's part of the fun.  Years ago
I picked up a 1972 LeMans Sport for dirt cheap from a friend.  Loved the
car, but wanted a 440, and now wish I would have done it.

It's actually pretty easy.  Pick up a set of T6 aluminum "elephant ears,"
mill what's necessary off the water pump housing, and drop 'er in.

In my humble opinion, nothing GM ever built can touch a 440 in
reliability, power, etc.  And I would pay money to see faces when you
popped the hood!
