Ok, I apologize for getting in on the subject late and putting in a very
late 8 cents. Anyway, unfortunately using an old car as a daily driver is a lot
more dangerous now than back when they were new. You can't get the agreed
value insurance on a classic that is driven daily. I really doubt that God
forbid your car gets totaled that you will get enough to replace it. That
weighed heavily on my mind every time some idiot pulled out in front of my Fury,
especially on the highway. I had some idiot, an insurance adjuster no less,
back into my car after missing his turn and backing up. He offered me $50
for the damage to my bumper because even though it was straight it did have
rust on top (I just needed to polish it) and I could get a junkyard one for
$50...yeah right not in that condition try $150 or more! My '64 Fury is now
getting a much needed rest with the Jeep now in the family, family being my
fleet. Why not get a full size truck or a Quad cap Dakota...lots of room and if
some moron hits you the parts are still readily available. Just take that
into consideration. I never used to think that way but the best way to
preserve them is to protect them.
