Re: 65 Satellite lap belts

Thanks Don and everyone who joined this conversation. The devil's in the details, isn't it? I really thought it was just going to be a simple matter of bolting them in. Now, looks like I need to decide where to drill some holes and make some backing brackets. Not a big deal, but for now I put the seat back in today and the belts in the trunk, thinking after 57 years, does it really need them?
Thanks guys,
Bill

I've got two '65 Plymouth B-Bodies in my Garage in Ohio, one a January car and one a Fall of '64 car. Unfortunately for you, I'm in FL this week so I can crawl under the car and see what's there.

They both have or had front factory seat belts. I think the January build Belvedere I may have had the rear belts. BUT, it's been a long time since I was even concerned about those. When I get home, I'll be glad to crawl under there and look as I need to pull the rear springs to install the Cal Tracs.

I too am of the opinion that the 1965 model year, and particularly January 1, 1965, was the year Dodge/Plymouth started making the front seat belt standard equipment. Other brands had them prior based on discussions on other sites.

I am resending this for Bill as the email got misdirected.

I know repro belts were available last I looked, fwiw. Maybe someone has a photo of where they were bolted on in a 1965
Satellite?

Thanks,
Gary H.
