some big block questions

I cant seem to find these answers online or in my books

Answer as many as you like

  1) Do the big blocks use a cam thrust plate? If so, what does it look like? Can't seem to find anything on this.

  2) What is the correct distributor lengths for 383 versus 440  distributors?

   

   3)Does the fuel pump run off of the camshaft instead of like in the LA motors that run off a little cup you bolt on?
