Dick,
-- Here’s a picture. It has stock 14” steel wheels on the front, now. We bought it in Florida in 2009. It was an original Florida car with AC. 318 Poly, push button Torqueflite. It was originally dark turquoise with a white top. That’s a great color, which I wanted to repaint it with. The front floors are patched and held on with sheet metal screws. Not the way I would have done it but it is solid. Rear floors are great. Trunk has pin holes but it’s solid. Every bolt comes off easily since it was never subjected to road salt. There is mud in the body - I don’t know if there’s rust in there or just dents. The cowl has a lot of mud. An old guy owned it before the guy we bought from and he did the repaint. So unknown what’s under there. It looks like it was hit in the front left at some point. The 318 runs great but there is an exhaust leak. Things I’ve done to it: Replaced the tapered axle rearend with one out of a ‘68 GTX - had a 2:76 open. New exhaust. Had the trans rebuilt in 2009. Works great. Replaced the electric fuel pump that was mounted on the inner fender with a new one on the frame by the tank. Put SS springs and longer drag shocks on the rear. Put 275/15/60 on the rear on cop wheels. All new brakes. Restored a replacement steering wheel. Came out nice but has some small cracks now. Still looks nice, though. That’s most of what I’ve done to it. I was going to make it a Max Wedge, but then we got the ‘66 Satellite and this car just isn’t driven anymore. I have a big block cable shift 727 for it. I have the AC stuff, too. It’s a good driving car that needs some work to make it better but it’s a solid driver. I really like the car, but we don’t really have room for it and it’s just not getting used. I’m fine with keeping it and hope to expand our garage before long, but the reality is we really don’t do anything with it and downsizing a little wouldn’t be a bad thing. I haven’t previously tried to sell it, but your post got me thinking. When I’ve thought about selling it before, I thought maybe $8500. but I don’t know if that’s realistic or not. Let me know if you have any questions or interest. Dave Sent from my iPhone On Jun 10, 2022, at 1:07 PM, Dick Shoup <dickshoup43@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
